Head out on a trekking adventure in Hohe Tauern National Park, into the realm of Austria’s highest mountains – accompanied by a local guide and Roope Roine.
The national park is Austria’s oldest and largest. The trails lead you through deep valleys, glacier-shaped slopes and lush alpine meadows – and all around you rise Austria’s most impressive peaks, such as the Großvenediger (3,666 m).
Hohe Tauern is known for its natural diversity: you may spot marmots, chamois, ibexes and eagles soaring high above. The area is full of old mountain trails and traditional alpine villages, whose history and culture have evolved hand in hand with the surrounding peaks for centuries.
This demanding trek is suitable for more experienced hikers who are looking for both challenge and the quiet of nature. We stay in traditional mountain huts (the first night in a hotel) in 2 - 4 person rooms. Lunch during trip and dinner on the first evening are not included in the price, but packed lunches can be purchased from the mountain huts.
The guide travels with the group from Munich to the starting point of the trek and back, so you can simply focus on enjoying the mountains.

Local guide: Stephan Grabner
Stephan grew up in eastern Austria and has spent the past ten years leading groups in the Austrian Alps and farther afield. His work as a guide has taken him across the United States, Latin America and Europe. Stephan feels most at home in the mountains, and he greatly enjoys being able to share his passion with the groups he leads.
