Nehvonniemi – Petkeljärvi National Park – Lake Koitere. 26.7 - 1.8.2027

From the peaceful shores of Nehvonniemi, through the tranquil waters of Petkeljärvi National Park, and onward to the vast, island-dotted waters of Lake Koitere. This region offers pristine nature, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful campsites.

The scenery changes from narrow waterways bordered by pine forests to expansive lakes. One of the highlights of the trip is paddling through the stunning waters of Petkeljärvi National Park. Known for its esker ridges and lakes, the park is one of Finland’s smallest yet most beautiful protected areas. Its waters are exceptionally clear, and the shores offer perfect spots for breaks, photography, and quiet moments in nature.

Lake Koitere is one of Finland’s most beautiful and least crowded large lakes. It is known for its more than one hundred islands, each with its own character: rocky shores, sandy beaches, sheltered coves, and forests reaching down to the water’s edge.

Each night, you will camp in tents along the route. The region is sparsely populated, so you may paddle for long stretches without encountering other outdoor enthusiasts.
