Discover the wild beauty of Finland, one paddle stroke at a time.
Imagine gliding across crystal-clear lakes, drifting beneath towering pines, and navigating winding rivers through Finland’s northern wilderness. Welcome to Hossa National Park, where pristine waters, peaceful forests, and adventure come together.
Over five unforgettable days, we’ll paddle approximately 75 km through a stunning network of lakes and rivers, navigating Class I–II rapids along the way. With a mix of gentle paddling, exciting whitewater, wilderness camping, and outdoor skills, this expedition offers an authentic taste of Finland’s wild side.
Whether you’re new to canoe touring or an experienced outdoor enthusiast, Hossa invites you to slow down, embrace the elements, and reconnect with nature.
Why Hossa National Park?
Hidden away in eastern Finland, Hossa is a wilderness of crystal-clear waters, ancient forests, rugged rock formations, and peaceful waterways.
Paddle across tranquil lakes, follow winding rivers through spruce forests, and experience the thrill of lively rapids. From open landscapes bathed in northern light to secluded forest corners, every stretch reveals a new side of Finland’s natural beauty.
Discover the Wilderness of Hossa
Established in 2017, Hossa National Park protects a remarkable landscape shaped by water, ice, and time. Its extensive network of lakes, rivers, and trails offers endless opportunities for exploration.
During our expedition, we’ll discover the park from the water, reaching quiet places where nature sets the pace.
Wildlife Encounters
Keep your eyes on the shoreline and your ears open to the forest. Hossa is home to diverse birdlife, and with a little luck, we may spot moose, beavers, or even signs of bears. Every bend in the river brings the possibility of a memorable encounter.
Five Days of Adventure
Each day brings new waterways, changing scenery, and opportunities to develop your outdoor skills. We’ll paddle peaceful lakes, follow winding rivers, navigate manageable rapids, and learn the fundamentals of wilderness travel and bushcraft.
After a day on the water, we’ll settle into lakeside campsites, gather around the campfire, prepare delicious outdoor meals, and watch the evening light fade beneath the northern sky.
Comfortable Wilderness Camping
We’ll spend each night at established wilderness campsites with fire pits and basic toilet facilities. Away from everyday distractions, our camps offer time to recharge, share stories, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the Finnish outdoors.
Wilderness Living Skills
Throughout the expedition, you’ll develop practical skills, from setting up camp and preparing meals to navigating waterways and understanding the surrounding environment. Our guides will help you build confidence and make the most of every day.
